RMA Cambodia and the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training Sign a Memorandum of Understanding to Contribute to the Employment Development, Social Security and Vocational Training
Phnom Penh – On the morning of Monday, September 9, 2024, RMA (Cambodia) Plc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training (MLVT) on “Cooperation in Labor, Social Security, and Vocational Training through Apprenticeship Programs, Advanced Technology and Public Employment Services,” under the presidency of H.E. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, at the Ministry of Labor.
This Memorandum of Understanding, valid for five years (2024-2029), aims to establish a framework for cooperation between both parties, contributing to the development of employment, social security, and vocational training in alignment with the 2024-2028 Strategic Development Plan. It includes the establishment of RMA Training Centers within technical and vocational education and training institutions, as well as the provision of cutting-edge technical and technological assistance and other essential skills training programs.
Speaking at the ceremony, H.E. Heng Sour highlighted that this Memorandum of Understanding will enhance the capacity of Cambodian human resources by providing advanced technology training and public service skills. Through this agreement, RMA Cambodia will accept apprentices, including students and graduates, from various relevant fields to gain practical experience and training
Mr. Ngorn Saing, CEO of RMA (Cambodia), stated: “The signing of this MoU marks a significant milestone in our commitment to advancing employment, social security, and vocational training in Cambodia. It presents a new opportunity for private companies like RMA to contribute to and enhance training and internships, allowing students to bridge the gap between theory and practice through hands-on experience with our specialists across RMA Cambodia’s subsidiaries.” He further added that this partnership will positively impact the development and strengthening of human resources, aligning with the company’s existing vision of becoming the most trusted and enduring partner for development and prosperity in Cambodia.
It is noteworthy that RMA Cambodia has six technical training centers located in the following areas such as National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC), Industrial Technical Institute (ITI), National Polytechnic Institute of Angkor (NPIA), Battambang Institute of Technology (BIT), Polytechnic Institute of Pursat Province (PIPP), and Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport (TSI).
